Killers

Jack had been trained to kill from a young age. He understood expediency, and the effectiveness of slaughter in preventing further bloodshed - with Daleks and Cybermen, for example. He understood hatred.

But Jack seldom wanted to kill anyone as he wanted to kill Evan Sherman.

Gwen asked Sherman why he did it. Jack knew why: because he was an evil bastard. Even now, he took joy from the pain, death and fear he caused.

Jack clenched his hands in his pockets. Gwen's presence stopped him. Memories of the Doctor stopped him. Common sense stopped him.

No more deaths today.
