Con Man

"You should have killed me with Lisa." Ianto sat on the floor, his head against Jack's knee, while Jack fondled his hair. "Retconned me and turned me off. Why didn't you?"

"Because you blindsided me," said Jack. "You conned the con man. I even thought you loved me - I was completely fooled. Furious with myself for falling for it. Skill like that, I want you working for me, not against me."

Ianto ducked his head and kissed Jack's knee. "I did love you. I fooled myself. I didn't let myself believe it."

"See? Clever liar."

"A fool," said Ianto.
