Silent Tears

Relaxed in the dim-lit club, Ianto let Jack hold his hand during the singer's performance. There was no better way to unwind after a typical Torchwood day than with a pint and an old, mellow song.

That certain night,
The night we met,
There was magic abroad in the air...

The warmth of Jack's hand triggered hot thoughts, but when Ianto glanced at Jack, he saw the glitter of wet, silent tears. "Jack? You all right?"

Jack squeezed Ianto's hand. "Guess some smoke got in my eyes."

"Let's go home to bed," said Ianto.

Jack kissed his fingers, smiling.
