Here and Now

Jack's hands were like always, large and warm. They clutched, touched, grabbed, pushed. Like John remembered.

The eternity he'd spent looking for Jack was over. Jack was here and now, in John's arms. The empty time, the horror of Gray's plotting, the sword over his head - for a moment it disappeared, and nothing mattered but Jack.

They kissed. They laughed. They fought. In his bleak life, this was all John wanted, the only thing he knew with meaning.

Then Jack said, "You need to go. I don't want you on my territory."

It was time to fight for real.
