It was New Year's Eve, and Jack had a date.

In evening wear, he stood on a high roof, sea wind ruffling his hair. He had seen many years begin and end. He had resolved... Not to break Estelle's heart. Not to let the Doctor down. Not to let Rose fall. Not to seduce Ianto. To save and protect Jasmine; John Ellis; Rhys Williams; Tish Jones.

Never to harm anyone.

The brisk air promised a new start and a new beginning. No promises, no guarantees.
