Thou Winter Wind
It was a bitter January afternoon, but Will Shakespeare and Captain Jack Harkness were cosy under the quilting, entwined in the Earl's second-best guestroom. The wind howled outside the casement window. While the Earl's other guests went hunting, Will and Jack chose to explore another kind of venery indoors. "Blow, blow, thou winter wind," Will said lyrically. "I'll write you a play about winter."
"Smut?" Jack laughed. "I see how you handle cold weather."
"Were winters harsh where you came from, Jack?"
"Harsh and beautiful." In Boeshane, winter sands were crystalline, and shimmered.
"Like you."
"Like life everywhere."
