Imprisonment

After a while, Toshiko became accustomed to her tiny locked UNIT cell. After a while, familiarity felt like safety. When she was forced to leave - for exercise, for example - she felt vulnerable and exposed.

Then Captain Jack Harkness came and did his magic and got her out.

Walking across the plaza to Mermaid Quay, she felt assaulted by the sunlight. The sky was too bright, the city too loud, too full of people. She wanted her safe little cell again.

Coward.

She moved closer to Jack, and he put a comforting hand on her shoulder as they walked.
